2021 rogue sport socket issue

im a new owner of this car model and i cant seem to make use of the power sockets in my car and im guessing the problem is within the fuse box. the sockets are cold but when i checked the fuse box they look very much alive and functioning. anyone with a thought on this?

actually, this issue could be more common than you think. in some 2021 models, there were instances of faulty wiring or loose connections in the power sockets. there's this thing called "parasitic draw" that could be at play here. it's when an electrical component drains power even when the car is off. check for any aftermarket equipment that might be causing this. also, sometimes the fuse might look fine but could be partially blown or have a hairline crack. try swapping the fuse with a new one just to be sure.

Good call on checking the parasitic draw. It would help to know if they've added any aftermarket accessories. Also, how old is the battery? And have any fuses been replaced? If they have a multimeter, they should check if there's a draw over 50mA with the car off.

I guess you could try testing the sockets directly with a known working device, sometimes the issue is just as simple as some corrosion or a worn out socket. Also, best check if your car has an ignition tied circuit, some sockets only get power when the key is in ACC or ON

Confimr for any hidden secondary fuse box maybe near the passenger footwell that might control those circuits, then test the sockets with a multimeter too, just to rule out bad contact.

Interesting! I've got a 2023 Rogue and I've been wondering about a slow battery drain lately. If it's a parasitic draw, how do you test for it without special tools? And for the fuse, do you just swap the one linked to the power socket, or should I check others too? Thanks for the heads-up!
