Backup braking too sensitive

Bought a secondhand 2023 Rogue and the rear auto braking keeps kicking in when I back out of my garage. It thinks the trash bins are an obstacle and slams the brakes. I've tried toggling the sensors off in the menu but it resets every time I restart the car. Is there a way to disable it for good?

Only real approach I've seen is having the dealer reflash or code it out, but most won't do it since it's a safety feature
